Why fly a Slow Stick?

Setup

GWS Slow Stick EPS300

Receiver: Hitec 555

Servos: GWS Pico BB+

Transmitter: Futaba 6XAS

Information for Beginners

  1. A must for beginners is go to rcgroups and search the beginners area for information on Slow Sticks. There is if anything too much information available!
  2. Pay attention to the strengthing of the landing gear, especially if you are going to carry anything under the stick. If you are carrying a camera the last thing you want is for the landing gear to spring apart and the camera to hit the ground.
  3. Change the aluminium tubing for brass tubing, see rcgroups threads for more information on this.
  4. Epoxy the fibreglass rods and brass tube to the wing, don't rely on the GWS stick stuff.
  5. Add the hardwood thrust modification to try and correct some of the worst flying behaviour under power.

Why fly a Slow Stick?

I purchased my Slow Stick as a Aerial Photography platform and use it in conjunction with a Aiptek Pencam.
